Insider Secrets For An Extraordinary Sydney Holiday!

Star Wars Exhibition At Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum

When’s It On: 4 December 2008 – 26 April 2009

Star Wars fans – there’s never been a better time to visit Sydney!

A new Star Wars exhibition is opening at the PowerHouse Museum in December 2008.

This is great timing if you’re going to be in town during December and January. Not only are these two of the best months to visit Sydney, the Star Wars exhibition will be on!

The Star Wars exhibition will feature over 80 models (such as an animatronic C-3P0 and an authentic Yoda puppet / muppet), props and costumes (including Wookiees and Jawas) from all 6 Star Wars films. Here’s hoping Jar Jar Binks doesn’t make the cut.

There will also be video interviews with the Star Wars filmmakers which explain how some of the effects were done.

The Powerhouse Museum is a science museum, so expect a focus on science and “how could XYZ special effect be created in real life”.

There will no doubt be some fan days or Star Wars movie screenings in Sydney to coincide with the exhibition – will keep you posted.

How To Get Tickets To The Star Wars Exhibition

You can pre-book tickets during October, or buy general release tickets from the museum in November. Entry is free for Powerhouse Museum members.

Location: Powerhouse Museum, 500 Harris St, Ultimo (near both Darling Harbour and Central Station).
